Call for Applications for the AUEB Teacher Education Program of the Academic Year 2014-2015

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

FOR THE AUEB TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014-2015

TO ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF ALL AUEB DEPARTMENTS

Undergraduate students (7th and 8th semesters) of all AUEB Departments  who are interested in attending the Teacher Education Program, are called to apply for the Selection Process for the Practical Exercise Course in Teaching I of their Department's Secretariat, exclusively from September 1, 2014 until September 15, 2014.

Candidates will be selected in accordance with the decision of the Senate of 18/4/2013

After this deadline, students will not be able to participate in the assessment process for the Practical Course in Teaching I and II for the 2014-2015 academic year.

NOTE: The application is also provided by the Secretariats of the Departments and should be accompanied by a file with the following supporting documents :

  1. Detailed score and
  2. Two ID cards with a backdrop: name, surname, department and registration number.

The AUEB Teacher Education Program, which started the academical year 2011-2012, focuses on Education Sciences and Teaching Practice. It leads to obtaining a Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence - Certificate in Education Sciences according to Law 3848/2010 (Government Gazette 689 / Τ.B '/ 26-03-2013 of 39460 / Γ2 / 21-03-2013 Ministerial Decision).

The Program is a one-year program (2 semesters), is for graduate students (7th, 8th semester) and consists of the following two modules:

a. Pedagogical competence

It consists, for the two semesters, of a total of eight (8) courses in Education Sciences, 2 hours of weekly teaching per each.

b. Teaching competence

It consists ,for the two semesters, of one (1) lesson "Practical Teaching"  which is analyzed in a variety of student teaching activities.

A key objective of the AUEB Teacher Education Program is to open a new professional horizon for AUEB graduates, with the training of competent scientists and teachers, who will be able to meet the future needs of Greek education.
