AUEB continues this year the Teacher Education Program

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

FOR AUEB TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM

TO ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

OF AT LEAST 7TH AND 8TH SEMESTER OF ALL AUEB DEPARTMENTS

Undergraduate students of at least the 7th and 8th semesters of the AUEB Departments who are interested in attending the Teacher Education Program, are required to apply for the selection process for the Practical Courses in Teaching I and II at their department's Secretariat exclusively from September 1, 2012 to September 15, 2012.

Candidates will be selected in accordance with the decision of the Rector's Council of 15/3/2012.

After this deadline, students will not be able to apply for participation in the assessment process for the Practical Course in Teaching I and II for the 2012-2013 academic year.

NOTE : The application is issued by the Secretariats of the Departments and should be accompanied by a file with the following supporting documents:

  1. Detailed score and
  2. Two ID cards with a backdrop: name, surname, department and registration number.

The AUEB Teacher Education Program Curriculum which started during the academic year 2011-2012, focuses on Education Sciences and Teaching Practice. It leads to the acquisition of a Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence-Certificate in Education Sciences according to Law 3848/2010.

The Program is a one-year program (2 semesters), is for graduate students (7th, 8th semester) and consists of the following two modules:

a. Pedagogical competence

It consists, for the two semesters, of a total of eight (8) courses in Education Sciences, 2 hours of weekly teaching per each.

b. Teaching competence

It consists ,for the two semesters, of one (1) lesson "Practical Teaching"  which is analyzed in a variety of student teaching activities.

A key objective of the AUEB Teacher Education Program is to open a new professional horizon for AUEB graduates, with the training of competent scientists and teachers, who will be able to meet the future needs of Greek education.
