Konstantinos Androutsopoulos is Associate Professor of Management Science at the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is Head of the Transportation Systems and Logistics Unit of the Management Science Laboratory of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens, Athens, Greece; M.Sc. degree in Statistics and Operational Research from the University of Essex, Colchester, UK, and Ph.D. degree in Management Science from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Athens Greece. His research interests include: Management Science and Operations Research methods in Logistics Planning, Emergency Response Logistics, Hazardous Materials Transportation, Air Transportation Management, Flexible Transport Systems. He has been a principal investigator for various R&D projects on the areas of Transportation, Logistics, and Intelligent Transportation Systems funded by the European Commission and the Greek Government. His work has been published in highly ranked academic journals of Transportation, Management Science and Operational Research including the following: European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Scheduling, Operations Research Letters, Transportation Research part C, Transportation Research Part E, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Transportation, and Transportation Research Record. Key findings from his research work have also been presented to international conferences including Annual Meetings of the Transportation Research Board, IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems, EURO, and the International Conference on the Application of Advanced Technologies in Transportation.
Zacharopoulos Alexandros

EurIng Alexander Zacharopoulos is a research fellow and PhD student in the TRANSLOG team of Management Science Lab AEUB currently. Alex has a deep understanding on solving complex problems in military engineering and defense systems change management. He is a keen innovator, a developer and an R&D programme director who develops multiscale interdisciplinary advanced engineering technology. While in his day-job, he is a company director who is leading businesses and engineering schemes, his research efforts focus on defense and energy technology sectors primarily. Earlier in life his academic work related to geotechnical engineering. He has extensive experience in leading and managing innovative design & engineering teams that push the boundaries of applied technology and science. He has a shear eye in viewing
how technology can resolve complicated management & engineering problems. His accumulated more than 25 years of professional experience had been divided between China, KSA/MENA, USA and UK, and lately in Greece. He completed full-time courses in Civil Engineering and Geology in the 90s and has numerous professional qualifications MSci MEng MBA MPA DIN ACGI FGS TEE, ΓΕΩΤΕΕ MICE CEng EURING. He holds an MBA MPA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Negotiations from AUEB.
Karouti Eleni
PhD student
Ms. Eleni Karouti is a PhD candidate at the Department of Management Science and Technology (DMST) at Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). She also holds a BSc degree in Management and Technology from AUEB (2015) and an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (2016) from Lancaster University.
Her work experience includes working part-time at the Transportation and Logistics Laboratory of AUEB, being a Procurement Coordinator at Lalizas and currently a Customer Planner at P&G. For her PhD studies she also received a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). Her interests include freight road transportation, HazMat transportation, scheduling and logistics.
