ACTION 4: M.SC. Graduates Reward

Achievement Praise

Regarding the 3 MSc programs of the Department of Statistics: (a) MSc in Statistics, (b) MSc in Applied Statistics and Data Analytics and (c) MSc in Quantitative Management of Actuarial and Financial Risk:

  1. Praise of Excellence for students with a grade > 8.5
  2. Praise of Outstanding Performance for students with a grade 8.0 – 8.5.

The exemption from postgraduate tuition fees aims to reward high-performing students and to strengthen the postgraduate program by attracting outstanding students who inspire their peers to achieve a higher level of academic performance.

The scholarship for doctoral studies has an obvious goal: to ensure that doctoral research is funded (which is the exception rather than the rule in Greek universities and contrasts with the reality at universities abroad), and to enhance the Department’s research output, which has always been noteworthy, with achievements recognized worldwide.

Finally, the teaching awards aim to reward both doctoral candidates and temporary instructors (both categories consisting of young researchers) who contribute teaching work at Greek universities. Beyond recognition and financial support, an additional objective of these awards is for recipients to feel that the university, society, and the business community stand by them and acknowledge their effort and contribution to the Greek university system.
