History

The Business Communication Laboratory of the Athens University of Economics and Business was founded in 1992. Its first official title was Multimedia Laboratory. It was created thanks to the ODILE program, funded from the European Commission. The purpose of the ODILE (Open & Distance Learning In Greece) program was to investigate the possibility of using new technologies to train public servants. The European Grant for this program was awarded to Professor Maria Constantopoulou, the Lab’s first Director.

In 2010, Professor Vlasis Stathakopoulos succeeded Professor Constantopoulou as the Lab’s Director. In 2011, the Lab was renamed to its present title Business Communication Laboratory.
