Renewal of ISO 9001 Certification

The Management Science Laboratory (MSL) of the Department of Management Science and Technology (DMST), within the School of Business of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), has successfully renewed its ISO 9001:2015 certification. The renewal was granted by the inspection, certification, and training body TÜV NORD Hellas S.A. and is valid until November 2028.

As the Director of the Laboratory, Professor George Ioannou, highlighted:

"The recertification according to ISO 9001:2015 constitutes a significant recognition of the organized and methodical effort of all our Laboratory members. It reflects our steadfast commitment to quality, transparency, and excellence, which form the fundamental pillars of our academic and research operations. At MSL, we believe that quality is not a static state but a dynamic process of improvement, and this certification confirms that we continue steadily in this direction."

The MSL of the DMST AUEB was established in late 2000. The Laboratory's mission is to conduct high-quality research in the broader field of Management Science, to disseminate and publish research results internationally, to support the educational activities of AUEB in Management Science, and to engage in consulting and outreach activities within this scientific field.

The core team of the MSL consists of approximately 35 researchers (Faculty members, Post-doctoral researchers, Visiting researchers, and PhD candidates), who carry out basic or applied research projects funded by the European Commission, national funding bodies, as well as other public or private organizations.

The Laboratory has been ISO 9001 certified since 2007. This certification serves both as a support mechanism for the implementation of research projects and as proof that MSL’s activities—including the design and implementation of research and development projects, the selection and supervision of doctoral candidates, and the dissemination of knowledge through publications and other outreach actions—are conducted according to the highest quality standards.
