“Perspectives on Just Transition” | Sciences Po Paris conference

On Wednesday February 8th, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri gave a speech at the conference “Perspectives on Just Transition” which took place at Sciences Po Paris (Amphitheater Chapsal) and it was organized by the European Chair for Sustainable Development and Climate Transition.

The debate was focused on the various aspects of the “just transition” that the European Green Deal and indeed any transition towards a climate-neutral economy bring about.

Speakers highlighted the multiple levels and staked that a just transition needs to be addressed. Their contributions spanned the field from the European and international perspective to sectoral policies, implementing change in the European car industry and tackling energy poverty.

Prof. Koundouri, given her role in the UN SDSN, added the international dimension, putting the promise of a just transition of the European Green Deal in an international context and highlighted the results of the Report on the Sustainable Development of Europe 2022.

  • Prof. Phoebe KOUNDOURI, Chair of the Global Climate Hub of UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)
