Irene Zografou obtained her PhD from the Department of Marketing and Communication of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and holds both an international MBA from the Department of Management Science and Technology of the same university (AUEB), and an MSc from the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean.

She has many years of work experience in several areas, including corporate training and development, project management, and customer service, both inside and outside Greece. Irene has been awarded for her professionalism and overall work performance by the Emirates Group (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), where she used to work. Her work experience has driven her to pursue a career in academia and explore new avenues for understanding the contribution of employer branding in improving business results. Therefore, her research work revolves around strategic HRM, employer branding and organizational performance. Her work has also been presented at competitive international conferences, including the European Academy of Management and the Cranet Conference.

Irene has served as adjunct faculty in training and development courses for the Executive MBA program at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has also held the role of a teaching assistant in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, and HRM courses at the AUEB, where she contributed to the development of teaching material for bachelor’s courses, in marking assignments, and in supervising postgraduate students. Additionally, she has been actively involved in designing and co-teaching e-learning material for courses related to management in small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as she has participated in several research projects, national and European. Currently, Irene Zografou serves as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Marketing and Communication at the AUEB, continuing her research in related topics. Additionally, she serves as communications officer in the OB SIG at the European Academy of Management.
