The Research Team is an innovation of the AUEB Teacher Education Program and aims at the further development and training of prospective teachers after their graduation from the Program.

The Research Team develops multifaceted research activities in the sciences of education in Greece and abroad while actively participating in the smooth operation of AUEB Teacher Education Program.

The Scientific Team consists of graduates of the AUEB and the AUEB Teacher Education Program who were distinguished for their ethos and performance.

ANTONOPOULOU KONSTANTINA, Department of International and European Economic Studies

Konstantina Antonopoulou has been a member of the scientific team of the AUEB Teacher Education Program since September 2020. She was born in Athens in 1996. She holds a degree in International and European Economic Studies (Athens University of Economics and Business) and she is a graduate of the Teacher Education Program (Athens University of Economics). Within the framework of the Program, she carried out an internship in teaching economic courses in public schools. At the same time, she continues her studies in the Postgraduate Program in International and European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business. She has published in the scientific journal "Xenophon" of the economic science . She has attended conferences on "Effective Public Administration", "Art and Education", "Energy Markets, European Union and Greece", "Greek Foreign Policy and National Defence Policy" and "Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship". She speaks English very well and Turkish well enough. From a young age she had lessons in modern piano, vocals and she also holds a degree in Harmony (School of Advanced Theory - Department of Harmony).

VASILOPOULOU CHRISTINA, Department of Εconomics

Christina Vasilopoulou is graduate of the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business and of the AUEB Teacher Education Program. She holds a master's degree in Sociology from Panteion University, where she completed her dissertation on "Enclosed Animals and Biopolitical Power in the Attica Zoological Park". She works as a private teacher of Political Economy, Sociology and Business Administration. She also writes and translates articles, texts and research on the relationship between human and non-human animals (John Berger, Why Look at Animals, published by Kyanavgi, 2019 & Christina Vasilopoulou, The Donkeys of Santorini: Workers or Slaves, From beasts of burden to animal ambassadors, ed. C. Kline & J. Rickly, De Gruyter, 2021). She is a member of the Scientific Team of the AUEB Teacher Education Program.

GKOUMA ANDRIANI, Department of Informatics

Andriani Gkouma is graduate of the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business and is studying in the MSc in Information Systems Development and Security of the Athens University of Economics and Business. She is a graduate of the AUEB Teacher Education Program and participates in the scientific team of the Program for the academic year 2020-2021. During her studies at the Program, she was member of the teams whose work was distinguished after reviews by scientific committees ["Tribute AUEB : 100 Years of Assistance in Greek Economic Education ", published in the Economic Scientific Journal "XENOFON", Issue 5, June 2020 & "Proposals for the utilization of the cultural reserve of Eleusis in the context of the Athenian trilogy: Cultural Routes RouteForYou"]. She speaks three foreign languages, English, French and German and holds a license to teach English (certified by EOPPEP). She has participated in the Certification process of the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Athens University of Economics and Business [February 2019 / Head: Bourantonis Dimitrios, Vice Rector] and in the certification process of the Undergraduate Computer Science Studies Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business by the Authority for Quality Assurance & Certification in Higher Education [June 2019]. She has been involved in Digital Marketing and Web Analytics and has participated in business workshops. She holds a Digital Marketing Business Diploma.

DIMOS ALEXANDROS, Department of Informatics

Alexandros Dimos is graduate of the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business, graduate of the AUEB Teacher Education Program and has completed the Minor study program in Finance at the American College of Greece. He has been working for the last two years as a teacher in a secondary school and as an analyst in a large banking group. He is a member of the Scientific team of the AUEB Teacher Education Program, having completed in collaboration with Dr. Vasiliki Brinia and Mrs. Eleni Michopoulou his first publication in the "International Journal of Management in Education".

THEODOROU FLORA, Department of Accounting and Finance

Flora Theodorou holds a degree in Accounting and Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business and she is a graduate of the Teacher Education Program at the same University. Within the framework of this Program, she did an internship as an economics teacher in public high schools. In addition, she was an intern at the Human Resources Department of the Bank of Greece. She works at the National Bank of Greece. At the same time she teaches economics to high school and university students. She is also works in a Tourist Office during the summer season (April-October). She knows English, she is now learning French and she holds a certificate of computer skills. She engages with Music from the pre-school age (guitar, lute, theory, traditional dances). She has attended seminars in Digital Marketing, Human Resources Development, Innovative Methods of Teaching Economics and workshops related to Tourism. Her research interests include Marketing and Communication issues, cultural heritage and tradition issues, the Human Resources sector and the application of innovative methods in teaching economics. She fully believes in the collective effort, which makes real the common visions. That is why she participates as an active member in Cultural and Ecological Associations.

KASIOLA IRINI, Department of Economics

Irene Kasiola is graduate of the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business and of the Teacher Education Program of AUEB. Within the framework of the Teaching Program, she attended and carried out an internship in teaching the courses "Principles of Economics" and "Political Education" in public schools. She speaks English very well and Spanish well enough. She successfully completed the seminar of Adult Education of AUEB's KEDIVIM, while she is attending a seminar in Special Education of the University of the Aegean. She has attended scientific events on "Energy Transition - Climate Change: Salvation or Holocaust of the planet" and "Greek Industry: Truths & Myths", while she has attended the series of Lectures of the Seminar Jean Monnet 2023 entitled: "Issues of the Operation of the Greek, European and International Economy". From 2019 to 2022 she had been working in sales and customer service in a vegetable and aromatic plant business. She has been a member of the scientific team of the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business since September 2023.

KATSIONIS CHRISTOS, Department of Accounting and Finance

Christos Katsionis is graduant student of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He works in the field of marketing and sales and he is a graduate of the AUEB Teacher Education Program. He has shown intense volunteerism at the AUEB Foundation, being a member of the Organizing Committee of the 1st University Road Race - AUEB Run 2018, offering in the fields of finding sponsorships and managing volunteers, while he has also been a member of the Organizing Committee of the AUEB Rhetorical Group for many years. He has also worked on the local committees of student associations as AIESEC LC Athens and ESN Athens AUEB, helping both his fellow students to seek suitable internships abroad as well as incoming Erasmus students to adapt to the academic life of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He speaks two foreign languages, English and German, while in the past he has been involved in radio production and articles, being a member of the editorial team of the University's monthly newspaper "AUEB News". He was distinguished for his performance and contribution to the AUEB Teacher Education Program and he is a member of the Scientific Team for the academic year 2020-2021.

KONDEA ANNA, Department of International  and European Economic Studies

Anna Contea is graduate of the Department of International and European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics, with specialization in the field of "International Economics and Finance", having prepared a dissertation on "Globalization, Poverty and Income: Interrelated Factors?" and a graduate of the AUEB Teacher Education Program. She participates in the Scientific team of the AUEB Teacher Education Program. In 2016, she worked in a large insurance group, while during 2018-2019 she carried out (through the "AUEB Teacher Education Program" of the Athens University of Economics and Business) attending and teaching the courses "Principles of Economic Theory", "Political Education" and "Modern World" in General and Vocational High Schools. In addition, from November 2019 till February 2020, she carried out her three-month internship at the Deposits and Loans Fund, specifically at the Local, Prefectural and Regional Government Loans Directorate in the Local, Prefectural and Regional (a) Loans (a) Departments (a) Business Loans for Local, Prefectural and Regional Authorities and Legal Entities. Then, from May till August 2020, she worked in the sales department of a private call center, while from October 2020 she works as a special consultant in the Peloponnese Region. She holds specifications in English (Lower ECPE B2 Michigan), French (Certificate of State Certificate of Language Proficiency level B2 Athens University of Economics) and Russian (level B1). She also has certifications on computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point) and handling the econometric packages STATA and Eviews (2018), as well as the accounting program HORIZONS, and the programs SIEBEL and FRAME.

OIKONOMOU ANASTASIOS, Department of Informatics

Anastasios Oikonomou is graduate of the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business, as well as graduate of the AUEB Teacher Education Program and participates in the scientific team of the program for the academic year 2020-2021. At the same time, he is studying at the MSc in Information Systems Development and Security of the Athens University of Economics and Business. From September 2019 until today he works voluntarily at the Alimos Social Tutoring Center as a mathematics, physics and computer science teacher to high school students. From September 2018 till December of the same year, he worked as a Data Base Developer and programmer in a consulting company. He also worked from January 2019 till January 2020 as Assistant System Administrator in the laboratories of the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. In addition to his volunteer work at the Alimos Social Tutoring Center, he works as a computer science and mathematics teacher in large tuition groups. He speaks two foreign languages, English and German and has been distinguished in the Panhellenic Swimming Championship taking the third place as well as holding many other distinctions in inter-club competitions. He speaks two foreign languages, English and German. Finally, he was member of the group of students of the AUEB Teacher Education Program who were distinguished and published in the scientific journal Xenophon an article titled as "Tribute AUEB : 100 Years of Assistance in Greek Economic Education".

PAPACHIOU MARIANDA, Department of Business Administration and Management

Maria Antonia Papachiou is involved in the field of education (teaching high school students) from 2015 until today and has worked voluntarily as a cashier in a local Association of Volunteers. Her studies include a degree from the Department of Business Administration and Management of the Athens University of Economics and Business and certification from the AUEB Teacher Education Program. Through the Program, she attended and taught "Principles of Economic Theory", "Modern World", "Principles of Economics" and "Elements of Commercial Law" in public General and Vocational High Schools. She has completed a seminar in Special Education. She also speaks English (Lower ECCE B2 Michigan) and French (DELF B1). She holds a certificate of computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), website construction skills (ACTA, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and a certificate of computer skills from the Athens University of Economics and Business. She is part of the AUEB Teacher Education Program Scientific team.

SARAVANOU CHRISTINA,  Department of Informatics (2010-2018)

Maria-Christina Saravanou holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science and an MSc in Information Systems from the Athens University of Economics and Business of Greece. She holds a certification in teaching and pedagogical competence from the AUEB Teacher Education Program (certified by the Greek Ministry of Education). She has experience in teaching in secondary education and adult education, as well. She was the head of the scientific research team of AUEB Teacher Education Program from 2010-2018 and she has been involved in research fields of learning methods in primary, secondary and adult education. She actively supported the establishment of the AUEB Teacher Education Program from 2010 till 2018 and was involved in research on learning methods in primary and secondary education as well as learning in adult education. Additionally, her interests and publications focus on educational leadership and the management of educational units. She works as IT expert in the Greek banking system.

TOUMANIDOU ANDROMACHI, Department of Informatics

Andromachi Toumanidou has been involved with Web Development and Underage and Adult Education, mainly in IT skills. She now works as a Java Developer in a private information systems company. She has graduated from the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business and a milestone in her life was the completion of the Curriculum in Education and Training of the AUEB Teacher Education Program. She continues her emotional engagement with the Program as a member of the research team and mentor of the new candidate Informatics teachers. She has advanced studies in classical piano and her research interests are limiting the negative effects of technological progress on human society, as well as the use of music and technology as accelerators of learning. She has a deep faith in Human and in collective effort, while always getting life lessons from the childish innocence and the purity of animals.

PSONI EVITA, Department of International and European Economic Studies

Evita Psoni graduated from the Department of International and European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). She completed her studies in the AUEB Teacher Education Program as well as Postgraduate Studies in the MSM in Services Management of AUEB, with the direction of Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, graduating 1st in ranking. She obtained a specialization in Human Resource Management from Deree College, with a distinction scholarship from the "Stavros Niarchos" Foundation. She has completed Adult Education and Special Education seminars. She has a long teaching experience with minors and adults and has set up a training and counseling career. She has also worked in the higher education sector, in the banking sector, in the telecommunications sector, in the tourism sector and in the professional skills development sector. She has also been actively involved in educational research in recent years within the framework of the AUEB Teacher Education Program. She has published extensively in international journals and conferences on experiential teaching methods, education administration and team dynamics, among others. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Learning and Change of Inderscience publications. Currently, she works as an executive in the largest private, non-profit institution of Higher Education in Greece. Finally, she holds a degree in Harmony and is a soprano graduate student.
