GEORGIOS DOURGOUNAS

Dr Georgios Dourgounas is a scholar and researcher specialising in European educational policy and lifelong learning, with a PhD from Panteion University in these fields. His doctoral dissertation, entitled “European Educational Policy and Lifelong Learning Policies in Greece: Investigating the Achievement of Employability and Social Inequality Reduction Goals before and during the Economic Crisis,” examines the implementation and outcomes of European educational and lifelong learning policies in Greece.

He holds two Master’s degrees, in Adult Education and in Education and Human Rights, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social and Educational Policy from the University of the Peloponnese. He has substantial teaching experience in higher education, covering areas such as educational policy, adult education, social policy, and qualitative research methodology.

Dr Dourgounas has also participated in research and European projects in the fields of lifelong learning, skills development, and higher education. His published research focuses, among other areas, on quality assurance, evaluation, and accountability in higher education.
