The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) is pleased to welcome participants of the 25th edition of the European Trade Study Group (ETSG)  conference to Athens.

This year’s conference will begin on Thursday 12 September and end on Saturday 14 September 2024.
Please plan on attending the entire conference.

Registration


Each participant can present a maximum of 1 paper.
All participants, regardless of whether they present papers, will be required to pay a fee for attending the conference. This has been set at €100.
Notice that this is only a fraction of the per capita cost, but will help keep ETSG conferences viable.
Failure to register before the deadline implies that your paper will be dropped from the program. Refunds and discounts are not available.

Conference Venue


The conference will be held at the Athens University of Economics and Business campus in downtown Athens. 
The main venue for plenary and parallel sessions will be the University building, Marasleio Megaro, located at 76 Patission Street (28is Oktovriou Str.), two blocks from the Archaeological Museum.

Many bus lines pass in front of the University, and a metro station (Viktoria Station - M1) is located only one block away from the main building.

The general area where AUEB is situated, Kypseli, is pleasant and lively.
There are many restaurants, shops, and entertainment places in this area of Athens, while many museums, galleries, and archaeological places are also nearby.

Dinner Venue [13/9]


The dinner on September 13th will be held at Café-Restaurant Ilissia, located within the Garden of the Byzantine Museum.

Address: 22 Vasilissis Sofias Street, 106 75 Athens. The museum is just a few meters from the Evangelismos Metro station (Line 3) and a 15-minute walk from Syntagma Square.

Passports & Visas

In order to visit Greece you need to have the following travel documents:

-ID card in the case that your country of origin is a signatory to the Schengen Agreement, you may use your national ID to enter the country and you may stay for a three-month period. In these cases a passport is not necessary, although you will need it in a variety of other transactions, including currency exchange, shopping etc.
-Visa If your country is not a member of the Schengen Agreement, make sure you obtain further information from the Greek Embassy or Consulate in your country before your trip, or from your travel agency. In case you travel with Visa,  make sure you also have suitable insurance coverage for emergency medical or other needs.
-Passport If your country of origin is one of the following non-EU countries, your passport allows you to visit Greece and remain in the country for up to three months (90 days) within a six-month period: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Vatican, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, USA, Uruguay, Venezuela. Find out more on the official webpage of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Panagiotis Hatzipanayotou

Panos Hatzipanayotou is Professor of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) since 1999.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York (S.U.N.Y) Stony Brook. He served as Assistant-Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut, USA, 1984-1994, and as Associate and Full Professor at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, 1994-1999.

Chrysovalantou Milliou is a Professor of Microeconomics, specialized in Industrial Organization and in the Economics of Competition Policy.

She is also a Full Member of the Board of the Hellenic Competition Commission, and a Research Fellow at the CESifo (Munich, Germany).
