Art and Education 2018:
“DIFFERENCE IN SCHOOL: Different Views and Perspectives”
Thursday 17 May 2018, 14.00 - 17.30, AUEB, Antoniadou Amphitheater, Patision 76
The AUEB Teacher Education Program, in collaboration with Oslo University, the Department of Teacher Education and School Research (Norway) and the Higher School of Fine Arts , organize the annual scientific conference and annual exhibition of student projects on "Bringing diversity to school: Different aspects and perspectives" . With a focus on fine arts, the Program aims to develop innovative pedagogical approaches aimed at the comprehensive education of students as prospective teachers.
Through collaborative actions, students from all departments attempted to develop innovative ideas for local communities based on the culture and history of the place by connecting this development to education and sustainable development. In addition, students reinforced their teaching through experiential ideas, while significant impulses were drawn from their involvement in fine arts, as well as study visits to museums, galleries, and discussions with experts.
As part of the Program's scientific collaboration with the School of Fine Arts, students were tasked with expressing their own perspective on diversity at school through a work of art. The chosen topic refers to an integral part of school life and the important role of the teacher in dealing with diversity. Students, working in groups, used special art methodologies and materials to create their own work and thereby send their own messages to accept diversity at school.
This particular approach is another perspective on the perception of diversity at school. So we invite you to interactively discuss this "different look" through your active participation in the Conference.
The Conference will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 14:00 - 17:30 at the Antoniadou Amphitheater, Patision 76 and is specifically addressed to Principals, Secondary School Principals, teachers who teach Economics and Informatics, as well as every teacher interested. The art exhibition of the students' works at the Antoniadou Foyer will be open to the public for two days: on Thursday, May 17, 2018, 11:00-21:00 and on Friday, May 18, 2018, 9:00-18:00.
