"DIFFERENCE IN SCHOOL: Different Views and Perspectives"

The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) Teacher Education Program, in collaboration with theυ Department of Teacher Education and School Research of the University of Oslo in Norway and the High School of Fine Arts organized on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Antoniadou Amphitheater, the annual scientific conference and annual exhibition of students' artworks on "Bringing diversity to school: Different perspectives and perspectives". The conference was welcomed by the AUEB Vice-Rector, Professor Dimitris Bourantonis, the Spokesperson of the High School of Fine Arts and on behalf of Oslo University, by the Assistant Professor Dr Janne T. Scheie.

In their speeches, Professors from Oslo University, Dr Janne T. Scheie and Dr Britt Oda Fosse, talked about the differences encountered in multicultural schools in Norwegian reality. Actress Efi Mouriki gave a different approach to the topic through theater and theater texts by major writers (Chekhov, Shakespeare).The award-winning choreographer in Europe, Theodore Panas, approached diversity at school through dance and psychomotor areas, connecting the audience with music and dance through an innovative workshop. Psychologist Evi Paschou talked about approaching diversity at school through artworks as a tool for tracing students' attitudes towards the phenomenon.Director George Constantinopoulos, a member of the Greek Directors Association, gave a cinematic perspective on diversity at school by screening movie clips in conjunction with storytelling. Marina Tsekou, Curator of Education at the National Museum of Contemporary Art , by giving examples of his educational programs, delved deeper into the notions of "Identity" and "Otherness" through Contemporary Art. Dr. Babis Baltas, a teacher and chairman of the board of the pedagogical group "The Skasiarxeio", approached difference at school through the French educational movement Freinet. The workshop ended with the presentation of the innovative educational activities of the AUEB Teacher Education Program by Dr. Vassiliki Brinia.
