«Teacher: Different aspects and optics»

The Education and Training Sciences program of the Athens University of Economics and Business with Oslo’s University scientific collaboration, Department of Teacher Education and School Research, Norway, Gavle’s University scientific collaboration, Department of Teacher Education and School’s of Fine Arts (SFA) scientific collaboration organize the annual scientific conference and the annual visual arts exhibition of the student’s group projects with theme «Teacher: Different aspects and optics».

Culture and art are key priorities and applied educational actions of the Education and Training Sciences program of the Athens University of Economics and Business for the values and the meanings that they transmit by drawing through their stimuli anthropocentricity based on not on the atomicism but on the harmonious cooperation and humans’ embodiment into society.

The Program aims to develop innovative approaches in order to achieve a holistic education of students as future educators. The scientific responsibility for organizing and implementing those innovative educational actions on culture and art goes to Dr Vasiliki Brinia.

Specifically, in collaboration with the «Dizoma» Association, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit (IEU) and the ACEin of the Athens University of Economics and Business but also through experimental action, student from all of the departments of Athens University of Economics and Business attempted to develop innovative ideas for local societies based on the culture and the history of the place linking this development to education, entrepreneurship, culture and sustainable development. Furthermore, the students have taken important stimuli from their engaging with culture and art through visits to exhibitions, museums, galleries and discussions with experts, visual artists etc. thus enhancing with creative ideas their teachings in the framework of their teaching practice in public schools.

In the framework of the scientific collaboration of the Program with the School of Fine Arts and the experimental approach, students were invited to express through their art work their own view of the Teacher.

The theme was chosen in cooperation with the Oslo University, Department of Teacher Education and School Research, Norway and the University of Gavle, Department of Teacher Education, and refers to an integral part of school life, the Teacher and his multifaceted role.

Students, collaborating in groups, used special art methodologies and materials in order to create their own teamwork and thereby send their own messages for their own view of the Teacher. This special approach is another perspective of the Teacher through the art, psychoanalysis, pedagogy etc. So we invite you to talk interactively for this «multifaceted look» in and from your active participation in the conference with speakers from different scientific regions from Greece and abroad.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 and from 14.00pm– 16.30pm at the Antoniadou Amphitheater, Patision 76 is addressed to all interested teachers of public and private schools of secondary educations and especially to educators who teaches Economics and Informatics. The visual arts exhibition of the students in the Antoniades foyer will be open for the public for two days: Thursday 9 May2019, 17:00-21:00 and Friday 10 May 2019, 10:00-19:00.

Participation is FREE and registration certificates will be issued to the Conference Secretariat
