AUEB Teacher Education Program at the 6th annual meeting of Ano Diazoma

On Sunday, November 5th, the sixth meeting of "Ano Diazoma" titled "The Flame of Associate Members" occurred. The Teacher Education Program of Athens University of Economics and Business participated through its innovative action titled Education, Entrepreneurship and Cultural Heritage. Dr Vasiliki Brinia presented the synergies between persons and organizations for the success of the innovative action. The exceptional students of the Program, who excelled in this activity with their project on the topic "Suggestions of the highlighting of cultural heritage of Lavrion", titled “Business Plan - Folklore Museum of Kyprianos” Sofia Georgogala, Aikaterini Divini, Maria Onu, Styliani Splinaki and Eleana Frantzeskaki, were awarded by Dr. Mary Belogianni, archaeologist, and member of the action's scientific committee. The students then presented their work to the audience, mainly associate members of DIAZOMA, that is, young people with a vision to give prominence to our cultural heritage. DIAZOMA volunteers presented their actions that aimed mainly at bringing in touch with younger generations with the marvelous world of ancient Greek monuments and theatres.

This year's assembly ambiance was unconventional because of the recent loss of Petros Themelis, a founding member of DIAZOMA, who contributed significantly to the organization's actions. Therefore, the student team dedicated the project to him, demonstrating the ethos and values that characterize its members, and it received the audience's applause. Our collaboration with DIAZOMA goes on for this academic year, proofing the vision and value of the new teacher candidates. We wish you great success and look forward to fresh, innovative ideas!
