Career Opportunitites

"Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything."

Napoleon Hill, American writer

Formal education

According to the Greek legislation (Law 3848/2010), since the school year 2013-2014, the participation in the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) competition for prospective teachers, who are graduates of Greek Universities, requires the possession of a Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence for the assignment in Primary and Secondary Education. With this Certificate, the Athens University of Economics and Business graduates may as well apply for their recruitment by the Ministry of Education for positions with short-term contracts or for positions of hourly teachers in Primary and Secondary Education or work in private schools.

Informal Education

By holding this Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence and following a simple examination procedure organized by the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP), holders can also be certified as adult trainers of informal education and teach or collaborate with creative teams in educational programs of museums, private cultural organizations, Centers of Vocational Learning (KEK), public and private Institutes of Vocational Training (IEK) and in the Lifelong Learning Centers of the Universities that organize two-year specialization programs for graduates of secondary education. This is an excellent professional opportunity for the graduates of the Program.

Finally, the holder of the Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence can be employed as a teacher in private tutoring centers of secondary or tertiary education (informal education).
