Happy New Year 2020 and Happy Decade for AUEB with music by the Vienna Musikverein!

Πρωτοχρονιά Σταύρος Νιάρχος

The students of the AUEB Teacher Education Program ,at the initiative of Dr. Vassiliki Brinia, welcomed the new year and the new decade with music by one of the most important orchestras in the world , the Vienna Philharmonic, on January 1, 2020 at 12:15pm.They all together watched the live-streaming performance of Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's New Year's Concert which was hosted at the famous Musikverein Hall in Vienna and broadcasted at the Greek National Opera Hall at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. This is the annual New Year's Eve tradition that has been a worldwide music event for so long, solemnly celebrating the start of the new year by sending a message of unity across the globe as the concert is broadcasted in 90 countries and around 50 million spectators can watch it at the same time. This year, the orchestra was led by Andris Nelsons, the director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and conductor of Leipzig's Gewandhaus Orchestra. He is a talented conductor as apart from leading the orchestra, he managed, at the finale of the concert, to lead the audience attending the concert to synchronize with it by clapping  their hands. It was a unique experience for the students of  the Program, which was both a stimulus for teamwork and a motivation for the students to try the exemplary mastermind that with the right guidance everyone can work in areas their field of knowledge. Thus, the students of the Program ,as orchestra conductors in their classes, using all the techniques and skills acquired through the experiential actions of the Program, will be able to activate each of their future students.
