Welcome Message from the Director

The MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management (ISFM) at the Athens University of Economics and Business brings together three disciplines that the shipping industry needs but rarely finds in a single programme: shipping, finance, and management.

The programme is ranked among the top five in its field globally by Eduniversal and has received the highest possible accreditation marks from the Hellenic Authority of Higher Education (HAHE). Its graduates hold examination exemptions from leading professional bodies.

The courses are delivered by AUEB faculty and visiting professors from internationally recognised institutions, all with strong research profiles and doctoral qualifications. Industry engagement is excellent: a Business Advisory Committee of senior shipping executives shapes the curriculum and contributes directly through guest lectures, site visits, and student placements.

Location matters. Athens — and the broader Attica region — is one of the world's foremost maritime centres, home to over 600 shipping companies controlling the largest fleet by tonnage globally. The ecosystem surrounding them — shipbrokers, financial institutions, classification societies, law firms, insurers — creates networking and employment opportunities that few programmes anywhere can match. Industry stakeholders contribute scholarships and placements both in Greece and abroad.

Our graduates are highly competitive. The majority secure relevant employment before or immediately after completing the programme, and join an established international alumni network built over more than a decade of operation.

If you are serious about a career in international shipping, the MSc in ISFM offers the academic depth, industry access, and professional network to get you there.
