The students of the Department of Management Science and Technology, Georgios Gravanis (postgraduate), Dimitrios Malamas, Panagiotis Exarchakos and Manolis Chatzidavid (undergraduates), having become first as a team in Greece in the Global Student Challenge of the Supply Chain Finance Community (https://www.globalstudentchallenge.org/), represented our country in the world final of the same competition (10-13 April 2017, Windesheim University, The Netherlands).

Among the 21 teams that reached the world final, the Greek team won the 9th place after a hard three-day competition. Assistant Professor of the Department Yannis Mourtos supported and accompanied The Greek team in the World Final. Among the participating universities were the University of Glasgow, University of Southern California, Shanghai University, McGill University and Delft University of Technology, while the first place was taken by the student team from the University of Glasgow.

The student competition includes familiarizing students with the key areas of a supply chain (Purchasing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance). Through an advanced simulator, students are invited to design a medium-term strategy that includes balanced decision-making to maximize specific financial indicators.
