AUEB-Stats Short Course "Categorical Data Analysis" Recap

AUEB-Stats was honored to host Professor Emeritus Alan Agresti (University of Florida) for the Short Course "Categorical Data Analysis", held from 18–21 May 2026.

For four days, students and faculty members had the opportunity to learn from one of the world's most influential Statisticians! Professor Agresti shared both the foundations and the latest developments in Categorical Data Analysis, a field that has been profoundly shaped by his pioneering work.

As a token of our appreciation for his outstanding scientific contributions to statistical education and research worldwide, we were delighted to present Professor Agresti with a commemorative plaque.

The week concluded with a wonderful Dinner, attended by all faculty members of our Department; a warm occasion to celebrate the academic excellence and collegiality that make our AUEB-Stats community so unique!
