    The Department of Statistics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), announces the second and final call for applications for its new English-taught postgraduate programme MSc in Sports Analytics.

    The first application cycle was completed with great success, attracting a large number of highly qualified applicants from Greece and abroad. Following a competitive selection process, the majority of places in the inaugural cohort have already been filled. We are now seeking a small number of additional outstanding candidates to complete the first cohort and ensure the strongest possible launch of this innovative programme.

    The programme is expected to commence in October 2026, subject to the completion of the accreditation process by ΕΘΑΕΕ (the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education).

    Designed to meet the rapidly growing international demand for experts in sports data and decision-making, the MSc combines statistics, data science, artificial intelligence, and sport in a modern interdisciplinary curriculum delivered entirely in English.

    Programme Highlights

    • Tuition fees: €8,000
    • Distance learning through live-streamed lectures
    • In-person examinations, with optional supplementary lectures and workshops
    • Full-time and part-time study options
    • Taught entirely in English
    • Two specialised study tracks:
      • Sport Data Science, designed for graduates with strong quantitative and computational backgrounds (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics/Finance with quantitative orientation, etc.)
      • Applied Sports Analytics, intended primarily for graduates in Sport Science as well as Economics, Finance, and other applied disciplines
    • International opportunities, including:
      • Double Degree with Digital Sports (Digisport Graduate School, University of Rennes 2, France)
      • Double Degree with Statistical Science for Decisions (University of Naples, Italy)
      • ERASMUS mobility for dissertation projects at partner universities
    • Internship opportunities integrated with the dissertation

    Final Call for Applications

    Applications are now open for the second and final admission cycle. As only a limited number of places will be  available, this call is intended to identify a few additional exceptional candidates who will join the first class of the MSc in Sports Analytics.

    Candidates with strong motivation and an interest in applying statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science to the world of sport are encouraged to apply.
